Simplified Employee Pension Plans, The Self Directed SEP-IRA
A Self Directed SEP IRA plan is inexpensive, easy to setup and maintain and does not require annual IRS filings.
With a SEP, contributions are made by the employer (employees do not contribute). All eligible employees have their own individual SEP accounts and annual contributions are made by the employer to the employer's SEP as well as to any eligible employee's SEP accounts. The employer can elect to contribute between 0% to 25% of compensation and the percentage of contribution can vary annually at the employer's discretion. The employer and all eligible employees must receive the same fixed percentage. The annual contribution made by the employer is tax deductible.
The plan is self directed, this allows you more options and freedom to invest in traditional and non traditional investments like real estate, tax liens, precious metals etc.

Savings Incentive Match Plan for Employees, The Self Directed SIMPLE-IRA
A Self Directed SIMPLE IRA plan is inexpensive, easy to setup and maintain and does not require annual IRS filings.
A SIMPLE IRA Plan, is an IRA-based retirement plan available to employers with fewer than 100 employees. Under a SIMPLE IRA plan, an employee can contribute a portion of his pay to his SIMPLE IRA account. You can match up to 3% of the salary for the employees who contribute to their SIMPLE IRA account. You only have to match for those employees who contribute to the plan. In any 2 years out of a 5 year period, after notification to the employees, you may elect a lower matching contribution percentage but not less than 1% of salary. Your business also has the option to select a "non-elective" mandatory company match of 2% of annual salary for every employee. Under the "non-elective" contribution formula, even if an eligible employee doesn't contribute to his SIMPLE IRA, you must still contribute to his account 2% of his salary.
The plan is self directed, this allows you more options and freedom to invest in traditional and non traditional investments like real estate, tax liens, precious metals etc.

A Self Directed 401(k) Plan
401(k) plans are mainly employer-sponsored: employees elect to have a portion of their wages paid directly into their individual 401(k) account, which is managed by the employer. Such payments are known as "contributions". As a benefit to the employee, the employer can optionally choose to "match" part or all of the employee's contribution by depositing additional amounts in the employee's 401(k) account or simply offering a profit-sharing contribution to the plan. In participant-directed plans (the most common option), the employee can select from a number of investment options, usually an assortment of mutual funds that emphasize stocks, bonds, money market investments, or some mix of the above. Many companies' 401(k) plans also offer the option to purchase the company's stock. The employee can generally re-allocate money among these investment choices at any time. In the less common trustee-directed 401(k) plans, the employer appoints trustees who decide how the plan's assets will be invested.
